Big Improvement Over Mapsend, I was a bit 'hesitant to buy DirectRoute after all the negative comments about the copy protection. I bought and received the same version 1.00a. Magellan should have solved the problem of not being able to use a CD-writer-ROM to install the program because it does wonders for me. It still needs to have the CD in the drive to use the program though. That said, this is a significant improvement over the Mapsend streets and destinations. All roads in my immediate area that is not true, with Mapsend was set DirectRoute. Moreover, auto-routing is very easy to use and have had excellent results with it. 4 out of 5 stars - remove copy protection problems without a star.

The maps even show roads in cemeteries in the middle of nowhere. After speaking w/ Garmin it requires downloading an interface or you can buy the DVD/CD version and transfer from a PC to the unit. I Like My Garmin Mapsource Topo, I bought the Mapsource Topo use when I hike in Colorado. Shows main roads and secondary roads with little traffic and most of the top names. I use it completely for about a month and yet again. It might be easier to download when you select portions of the card to my eTrex Vista. I can deal with the National Geographic map of Colorado for more information ok, but I did spend some 'time with him. However, I would not hesitate to recommend him.

The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a satellite-based navigation system owned and developed by the United States Department of Defense. It is officially named NAVSTAR (NAVigation Satellite Timing And Ranging) GPS. During the 1980s, the United States government made the GPS available for public use for free. It can be used from anywhere in the world and is operational 24 hours a day. The GPS consists of three segments: space, control and user.
Disappointed With GPS Compatability, If you look on the box cover of California TOPO can see a picture of a Garmin eTrex handheld GPS receiver. You might think, with a picture of exactly the same handheld GPS that has this feature. Not so. Later, the Garmin eTrex uses USB to transfer data to your PC that is not compatible with the software using TOPO COM1, COM2 ports. I wrote an email to TOPO wondering how to solve this problem and said I could buy the expansion pack for the series of state for about $ 20, then it would work with my GPS receiver. So I went on their site to buy the expansion pack and is priced at 24.95, and is not yet available. So it seems that I use Garmin Mapsource for all my uploads to your computer. The problem with MapSource is the level of detail. Its scale is 1:100000 Topo 1:24000 vs … But at least it works.

Utah TOPO Maps, These topographic maps on CD are excellent. The tools allow you to map a route and the GPS points and displays a list of contours. They are easy to use and print. A friend of hiking trails. I used National Geographic Maps Topo for the states, including Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico. Are all excellent products.
